Outpatient Therapy FAQ

What is outpatient therapy?

Outpatient therapy is traditionally a one-on-one hour long session between a client and a clinician. Our clinicians use talk therapy, as well as other techniques, with their clients as they process and explore what clients are bringing in to counseling. Clinicians enter into spaces with clients by creating a safe, consistent, nonjudgmental and warm atmosphere. Our clinicians use a variety of approaches within their counseling sessions, some of which include but are not limited to: play, art, music, and reading. Interventions are tailored to fit the individual needs of each unique client.

Who can be seen by the ARROW Project?

The ARROW Project sees individuals throughout the lifespan: we work with children as young as three, and adults in all phases of life. We also offer family and couples counseling.

How long will it take to be assigned to a clinician?

Our general wait time is 30 to 60 days. We take the time to match you with the right clinician for you! This varies depending on many factors, including current staff and client needs. To learn more about the referral process, please visit our “Referral Process” page for a more detailed timeline. If you or someone you know is in a mental health crisis, don’t wait – call 911 or seek other emergency services immediately.
