Group Counseling
The ARROW Project offers a wide variety of group counseling sessions to best serve our diverse community. Below are our current groups, with a brief description and a link to registration. All groups listed below are offered free of charge, and participants do not need to be a current client of ARROW.
Pregnant Mothers’ Support Group
Virtual| Mondays at noon
This program is a virtual group for pregnant mothers who may be experiencing mental health concerns. This group is meant to give a place for processing pregnancy, motherhood, and the potential impacts to mental health and wellness.
Postpartum Mothers’ Support Group
Virtual| Tuesdays at 7:00pm
This program is a virtual group for pregnant mothers who may be experiencing mental health concerns. This group is meant to give a place for processing pregnancy, motherhood, and the potential impacts on mental health and wellness.
Adult Substance Use Relapse Prevention Group
Lambert Office | Wednesdays at 4:00pm
This group is intended to support adults aged 18+ who are in various stages of recovery from substance use. In this space, participants will find a safe outlet to express their concerns, experiences, and successes with substance use recovery, with the overarching goal to reduce occurrences of relapse in use.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Group
Lambert Office | Wednesdays at 5:00pm
This group is a good fit for adults aged 18+ who are hoping to gain skills in the areas of executive functioning, coping strategies, and increased emotional awareness. Clinicians will help participants develop and utilize skills and resources derived from DBT.
Expressive Arts Group
Lambert Office | Wednesdays at 6:00pm
This group is for adults (18+) to both explore and process emotions and experiences through visual media/expressive arts activities led by the group facilitators. Art supplies will be provided, and participants may also bring supplies to use in group if desired. This will be an open group, and weekly attendance is appreciated but not required. Clients are welcome to drop in once registered.
Grief Group
Virtual | Wednesdays at 7:00pm
This group will focus on understanding grief and loss, as well as developing skills to manage grief in one’s personal life. We offer a warm and supportive environment for all to explore their relationship with grief. Register below to receive the link to join our virtual call.
Child Play Based Skills Group (for ages 5-9)
Lambert Office | Thursdays at 4pm
This group, for children ages 5-9, aims to create a safe and consistent environment that allows children to grow through the use of play. Clinicians will develop a therapeutic relationship with each child to improve functioning, and to help children develop social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
Youth Substance Use Relapse Prevention Group

Youth Group
Lambert Office | Bi-weekly Thursdays at 6:00pm
This group is open to youth aged 12-18, and is a way for youth in need of additional support to connect to peers in the area. Topics of discussion vary based on the needs of group participants.
Women’s Group
Middlebrook Office 2nd and 4th Thursday, Virtual 1st and 3rd Thursdays| Thursdays at 6:00pm
This group is open to women of all ages, and focuses on day-to-day emotional processing, trauma healing, and building connection among peers. Supports and coping skills will be shared to help mitigate the stress of engaging in the world today.
LGBTQ Parent Support Group
Middlebrook Office| Thursday at 6:30 pm
This group is intended for the parents of trans and non-binary individuals, but is also open to any parent who is hoping to learn more about how to best support their LGBTQ+ child. This group is an open and welcoming space to explore the journey of being a parent.
Parent Support Group
Virtual (or in person at Lambert Office when needed) | Thursdays at 7:00pm
This group is for parent engagement and community building. Participants will discuss parenting issues and concerns, as well as share highlights and joys, and ultimately learn from each other. This group is predominantly virtual (though can meet in person if needed), and anyone from the state of Virginia is encouraged to join.
Neurodivergent Youth Group
Lambert Office | Fridays at 5:00pm
This group is an ideal fit for youth ages 12-17 who identify as neurodivergent, with or without a formal diagnosis. It is meant to provide an opportunity for youth to meet other individuals in the community who are similarly hoping to explore their own neurodivergence. Additionally, clinicians will foster skill development and provide psychoeducation around the ways that neurodivergence can affect us. Above all else, it is a place to celebrate neurodiversity.
